K.Cook Korean BBQ Buffet at The Woodleigh Mall

When we first heard about K.Cook at The Woodleigh Mall, our first thought was that the price point was unbelievable. Weekday buffet lunches start from $16.90++ for students and seniors and $18.90++ for adults, and we went with out family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) to try out it out. It took us a while to locate it, as it was at the stretch facing the road instead of being within the mall.

We went on a Wednesday afternoon in the March school holidays, and there was no crowd at 1145am. Soft Korean pop songs were played in the background with 2 televisions broadcasting Kpop MVs. We were seated at a table for 4 and the server lined our grill with parchment paper.

The meat selection for the weekday lunch menu was pretty generous for the price we are paying.

We enjoyed the marinated beef and chicken, because personally we prefer smaller slices of meat as they cook faster. The servers changed the parchment paper as it got charred after a few rounds of barbequeing, During our 2 hour meal, our parchment paper was changed at least 3 times, although there were times we needed to get their attention to effect the change.

They also offer Korean pancakes and skewers. I would enjoy the pancake more if it was warmer.

The salad bar has a great selection of ingredients, and they are fresh and colourful, thus pretty appetizing. I personally had 2 helpings of salad while the boys heartily ate the meat

To the kids’ delight, K Cook has a free flow drink bar and ice cream machine. There are 2 flavours of ice cream – dark chocolate and vanilla. The kids find the dark chocolate ice cream a tad too bitter for their liking, but I like it as it’s not too sweet.

We spent $85.84 after service charge and GST for 2 adults and 2 kids (student price) for the weekday lunch buffet. We enjoyed it and will return again, maybe to try the weekend dinner menu. They offer more items for dinner.
