Enaq The Prata Shop – Review
Tucked at a void deck of Blk 303 Jurong East, this prata shop was at an unlikely location. Usually we are used to prata shops along the busy street, brightly lit and opening till the wee hours of the night. Enaq the Prata Shop, however, is in a quiet HDB estate and opens from 7am to 11pm.
There are plenty of seats inside the shop, and about 4 tables along the void deck corridor. During peak breakfast hours, there is usually a queue for seats. I went on a Thursday morning about 8am, and there were plenty of empty seats. I placed my order at the counter for an egg prata and teh tarik.
My teh tarik arrived fast. It is nice and frothy and not overly sweet.
My egg prata arrived shortly after. The curry serving was very generous, and interestingly, they also provide chilli along with the prata. I heard chilli with prata is a very Malaysian thing. I’m not sure, but it went very well with the prata.
The egg prata was delicious. Unlike most pratas that were chewy and slightly stretchy, this prata was crispy, especially at the sides, and it didn’t feel oily at all. It was a very different type of prata, and I was totally sold. Together with the fish curry and chilli, it was a match made in heaven.
So if you are craving for prata and you happen to be in the west, do give Enaq The Prata Shop a try. It may change what you thought you know about pratas all your life.
